Just to keep you up-to-date on a few matters, firstly CCTV has now been installed both inside and outside of St. Mary’s, new signage and also measures have been put into place in order to restrict parking and ensure that Parishioners can enter and leave safely. (You can view photos of these works here) I am currently looking for people to join our Fund Raising Committee for the restoration of our Blue Church which we hope to restore in 2014. If you would like to join or help please contact me or the office. On a personal level, as well as serving Sandyford Parish I am also a member of the Dublin Diocesan Finance committee and the Archbishop has now appointed me to lead a new Committee on future diocesan needs. With every blessing, Fr. Andrew
In the month of October we remember especially all missionaries past and present who helped spread the faith. Few were more influential in the Church’s history than a young man who was born in Assisi. After leaving his life of luxury to serve the poor, others felt drawn by his example of simplicity and poverty for the Gospel. Before his death, thousands of men left everything to find the joy St. Francis carried within himself on a daily basis. Today our current Pope chose the name Francis because of his love for the poor.
