st francis2In the month of October we remember especially all missionaries past and present who helped spread the faith.  Few were more influential in the Church’s history than a young man who was born in Assisi.  After leaving his life of luxury to serve the poor, others felt drawn by his example of simplicity and poverty for the Gospel.  Before his death, thousands of men left everything to find the joy St. Francis carried within himself on a daily basis.   Today our current Pope chose the name Francis because of his love for the poor. To read more about St. Francis’ conversion and life in the middle ages, follow this link.
