Happy Christmas

 

Dear Parishioners, we would like to wish you all and your families every blessing and contentment on this Feast of Christmas.  Due to the Covid 19, The emphasis this year is to remain safe and well. I think of those who are alone, those who are in hospital at this time, those who are unable to travel and be with family, those who have been bereaved this year. When you look into the crib you will see the baby Jesus in the manger with his arms wide open in love. May you whatever your circumstances experience the nearness of his love in your family and in your heart.

And there in a cave, in a cradle of hay,

Our Saviour was born on that first Christmas Day.

O come let us adore him , for He is Christ the Lord.

Every joy and blessing for Christmas and always.

I express my gratitude and appreciation to all who have worked very hard during the past year in the service of our Parish, The churches of St. Mary’s, Our Lady of the Wayside, and St. Patrick’s

Firstly my fellow priests, Fr. Paul and Fr. Aaron.Our Sacristans, Our Parish office Staff, The Church Altar Societies, those who decorated the Churches so beautifully with flowers, those who assembled the cribs.

Our child safe guarding representatives, the Parish Collectors and Counters, our volunteer Church cleaners, those who keep the altar linens so well, Our Cantors, and Choirs. The Eucharistic Ministers and Readers, The Members of the Parish Pastoral Council.  The Finance committee, The Parish Management Committee.

Those who maintain the grounds of the churches so well And indeed so many who continue to play such a vital role in our Parish. A very sincere thanks.

Due to the restrictions Masses from St Stephen’s Day will be on line only. The churches will remain open for prayer.

Come in to pay your visit at the crib in your church.

NEW UPDATE PARISH MASS TIMES & GUIDELINES

 

Dear Friends, due to HSE guidelines it will not be possible for our usual large congregations to assemble for Mass on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. We wish to remind you that the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days remains suspended during the pandemic. But Christmas is about more than just one day. Families are welcome to attend Mass at some point during the twelve days from Christmas Eve to Epiphany.

Christmas Masses will also be widely available over webcam and we strongly encourage families to “tune in” from the “domestic churches” of their living rooms and join with those who are gathering in their local churches in welcoming the birth of the Christ-child. We also invite families or “household bubbles” to pay a visit to their local church at some time during the twelve days to offer a Christmas prayer at the crib and pray together for their families and for those particularly impacted by the pandemic.
