Sandyford Parish Family Fun Day
Family Day – The first Family Day to be held in the new Pastoral Centre held earlier in the summer attracted large numbers of parishioners.
Warm sunshine, face-painting, a soccer goal-keeper, a magician, prize giving in the parish Art Competition, freshly cooked burgers, ice-cream cones and the ever reliable cuppa – all served with great good humour and a real sense of community – contributed to a most enjoyable event. The gospel reading of the day was about the mustard seed growing into a small sturdy tree which offers shelter to the birds of the air – it was mirrored in our parish community gathered and enjoying each other’s company. As ever parish volunteers made sure everything moved smoothly and with little apparent effort – all signs of successful planning.
Our Family fun Day is the first of many other similar type days in the future.
