Synod of Bishops and Family Life in the Church

a3The focus of the upcoming Synod of Bishops in Rome that runs from October 5th – 19th will focus on family life.  They are meeting to discuss the “pastoral challenges of family in the context of evangelisation.”   All diocese and parishes have been encouraged to take part by reading and answering some of the questions that can be found here.  (To download the entire preparatory document from the Vatican click here.)

The Church wants responses from as many Catholics as possible from around the world, whether they are practicing or lapsed.  In time there will be an online survey that you can fill in and we will include that link once it becomes available.  “We recognise that some of the questions are formulated in complex terms. You can help us by using the 9 headings of the questionnaire as a guide for your answers. The Church wants to know what you think about these issues so do not hesitate to put things in your own words as you write the answer on-line (or if you wish to leave your comments in a sealed envelope in the parish office we will make sure they get to the appropriate office)” Thank you (Parish team)which are ,

Parish Pilgrimage to Poland 2014

Publication2Following our Parish ‘Year of  Faith’ Pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi in June 2013 a number of people have been asking if we could facilitate a pilgrimage this year.  In April 2014 Pope Francis will celebrate the Canonisations of Blessed Pope John XXlll and Blessed John- Paul ll.

In light of this the parish proposes  a pilgrimage to Krakow, Poland  ‘Walking in the Footsteps of Pope John –Paul ll‘  from Monday 14th—Mon 21st  July 2014. Copies of the proposed itinerary  are available  at the church doors. All bookings are made directly with MAP Travel but we ask that if you are booking  you would also contact the parish office and let us know of your intention to do so . Please spread the word as this is a very beautiful trip  which balances  all aspects of a prayerful pilgrimage with ample time to rest and enjoy the beautiful city of Krackow and the surrounding area.

Please see the proposed Itinerary at the doors of the church.  Download the Proposed Itinerary Here   and Booking Form Here
