We are currently organising a Habitat for Humanity trip for August 2018. We plan to bring a team from the parish to Zambia with the aim of constructing homes for vulnerable people in the poverty-stricken country.
Both of us travelled in the past to the country on similar trips. Our experiences were lessons in both humanity and the real essence of charity. Going on a Habitat for Humanity trip is much for than a simple act of benevolence, it is a cultural exchange. It brings two sets of people from opposite social classes together to exchange what they have in
abundance. Our gift is monetary in nature and the gift of the Zambian people was their beautiful culture which they gave selflessly.
A trip like this is life changing, it opens your eyes to another way of life and a completely different culture.
We are looking for people to volunteer to travel with us. All ages and all genders are welcome. The only requirements are you live in the parish, you are over the age of 18, you have a positive outlook and that you are
willing to work. The trip will entail a fundraising and a personal cost, however we will work as a team to make all costs easily achievable.
