Following our Parish ‘Year of Faith’ Pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi in June 2013 a number of people have been asking if we could facilitate a pilgrimage this year. Itinerary Here and Booking Form Here
In April 2014 Pope Francis will celebrate the Canonisations of Blessed Pope John XXlll and Blessed John- Paul ll. In light of this the parish proposes a pilgrimage to Krakow, Poland ‘Walking in the Footsteps of Pope John-Paul ll’ from Monday 14th—Mon 21st July 2014.
The Itinerary and details of the above proposed Pilgrimage are available on the parish web site, on the MAP Travel web site and at the doors of our 3 parish churches. If you are interested in participating in this pilgrimage you are invited to express interest as soon as possible. Demand is very high in Krakow for 2014 in response to the imminent canonisation in April of Blessed Pope John- Paul II.
The airlines and hotels will not hold space indefinitely for us. Please contact MAP travel for bookings asap so as not to be disappointed. Please spread the word as this is a very beautiful trip which balances all aspects of a prayerful pilgrimage with ample time to rest and enjoy the beautiful city of Krakow and the surrounding area.
Please see the proposed Itinerary at the doors of the church. Download the Proposed Itinerary Here and Booking Form Here
Sandyford Parish Bereavement Support Group : Wednesday 7th May 7.30pm
This Group offers the support of specially trained volunteers who understand the struggle of the grieving process.
We are delighted as a parish to offer two strands of bereavement support to parishioners:
One to One support, which has been part of the parish programme for many years.
The Bethany Group, which is new to the parish. Taken together, they offer a comprehensive level of support.
The Bereavement Support Group will hold a monthly Bethany Meeting in the Parish Room at St. Mary’s Sandyford on the first Wednesday of each month from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. All support sessions are free and
completely confidential. You can contact the Bereavement Support Group through the parish office 2956414 at

Sandyford Parish “Baby Talk”
Parent and Toddler Group
We are happy to announce a new group in the parish,
“Baby Talk Parent and Toddler Group” –
which starts on Monday, 12th May in Lamb’s Cross
Community Centre, 11am – 12.30 pm.
The group has been started by a group of young parents,
who met for the first time while attending the Wednesdays of Lent, “Prayer, Soup and a Roll” in St Mary’s. They would like to extend a warm welcome to other parents/carers in the area
especially first time parents with young babies. As a parish, we see groups like this as a natural extension to the Baptism meeting and we wish the group every success and blessing in the future. Anyone who might like to support the group as a volunteer or for further information please contact
Leanne 086 1744036 or Gráinne at 2956367.
Dear Parishioners,
As you are aware emergency works have begun on the church of Our Lady of the Wayside. Unfortunately the roof is much worse than we had anticipated and in fact is completely rotten. This will now add further to the renovation cost which is approximately €350,000. The good news is that this renovation job will be a fully complete one and will restore the church to its original beauty and the upside is the roof won’t fall in on parishioners in the near future.
I appeal to both parishioners and friends of the parish to please consider giving a donation now towards funding this project. All donations should be made payable to Sandyford Parish and you can also make a donation via PayPal here.
Thank you for your generosity.
Fr. Andrew
