PARISH OF SANDYFORD, KILTERNAN & GLENCULLEN 2021
Easter Message and Easter Schedule
On Easter Sunday the Lord came and stood among his frightened and disheartened disciples and said to them: ‘Peace be with you’. He then showed them his hands and his side. Doubt no longer but believe.
This year has affected us all. We think of those who remain alone at home, those who have lost loved ones, those who are anxious, those who are working in the community, those waiting for the vaccine and those who are caring for others. We remember our young people who are preparing for exams and those who have become unemployed. We pray for healing and hope that we remain safe and well.
We are blessed in that we celebrate Easter at a time when new life is happening all around us in nature. As long as the sun comes over the hills,
and scatters the darkness and fill the world with light: As long as the fields get green again and the daisies return: As long as the trees fill up again with leaves; As long as children go out to play unmindful of the past, and untroubled by the future and lost in the present- there is hope for us in the world.
Easter is the time when we see the triumph of light over darkness and death is overcome with the Resurrection of the Lord. I pray that you may know the peace and joy of the risen Lord in your families and in your lives at this time. May the words of the risen Lord who appeared to the disciple’s echo in your hearts. ‘Peace be with you, do not be afraid’.
Please join us in the Celebration of the Easter Ceremonies by Webcam. You are continually being remembered in our thoughts and prayers.
Happy Easter.
